MMCV IT Workshop

What is the MMCV IT Workshop?

The MMCV IT Workshop is a free community drop-in session, run by The Fix It Group 23 alongside the MMCV Repair Café. Held upstairs in the Bilson Room, our friendly volunteers offer informal, one-to-one support to help you solve everyday technology problems, develop your digital skills and become more confident using your devices.

Whether you're completely new to technology or just need a helping hand, everyone is welcome. No question is too small, and no previous experience is needed!

What can you help with?

We can help with a wide range of everyday IT questions and problems, including computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets. Our volunteers can support you with getting online, sending emails, using apps and software, managing files and documents, adjusting device settings and staying safe online.

Whether you want to learn something new, understand how something works or troubleshoot a particular problem, we'll do our best to help. Sometimes we might not have an immediate solution, but we're always happy to offer advice or point you in the right direction.

What should I bring?

Bring along the device you need help with, whether that's a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Please make sure your device is fully charged and bring your charger with you.

It can also be helpful to have an idea of what you'd like support with, although you're welcome to come along with general questions or simply to improve your digital confidence.

Do I need to book?

No! Our IT Workshops are informal drop-in sessions, so you're welcome to come along during the advertised session times. However, we encourage you to pre-register using our online form. This allows our volunteers to understand what you need help with and prepare ahead of your visit.
